Your retreat on the backwaters

Anaamaya Ayurveda Resort lies near Kollam in Kerala, surrounded by tropical greenery and water. Eight standard rooms and two cottages create a small, personal setting. Pavilions by the water invite you to simply have nothing you need to do.

A day in your own rhythm

Yoga in the morning, Ayurvedic meals, treatments agreed with the doctors and meditation in the evening give your stay a calm rhythm. In between, there is time for conversations, a walk or simply some time to yourself.

With people who are there for you

The tour guide supports you with practical questions on site. The resort’s medical directors are Dr Manu Das and Dr Smitha Devi; assistant physician Dr Rinu completes the trusted team of doctors who accompany the cure. Treatments and your personal treatment plan are decided by the team on site.

What a day of a cure is like, Beate describes in the guide “What really awaits you on an Ayurveda cure”.

An Ayurveda cure does not replace necessary medical care. Please discuss whether the planned treatments are suitable for you with your doctor and the medical team on site.

VOICES OF OUR GUESTS

In their own words.

„Wonderful weeks with bel-Reisen“

In the best of weather, we spent two wonderful weeks in India in August. The care from the team of doctors, the kitchen, the manager and – not least – the great massage team was loving and family-like. I will definitely return next year and am already looking forward to the lovely walks, the food prepared with so much love, the relaxing massages and an atmosphere that is perfect for switching off and gathering new strength.

„The most beautiful place to let go!“

This was my second stay at this resort and once again everything was perfect. I was able to let go much more quickly and had a wonderful rest. The loving care of the team, the wonderful massages and the daily yoga really brought me back to life. I got on wonderfully with the doctor, Dr Manu. Somehow I had the feeling that he could see into my soul. […] I came home in full bloom and am already very much looking forward to next year. This place simply doesn’t let you go!

Gabi from Stuttgart · translated from German

„A hidden gem!“

I was there for 14 days in August and it was beautiful. The whole team was wonderful – incredibly friendly, attentive and competent. My heart still warms when I think back to that time. The treatments and the medical care that came with them could not have been better. I am thinking of coming back!

SHARED MOMENTS

Not alone – and still entirely yourself.

In a small group, encounters often happen all by themselves: at a festival, in the cooking class, on an outing on the backwaters or at an evening of Kathakali.

STEP BY STEP

How your journey unfolds.

  1. Arriving in Kerala

Already at the airport you feel the rhythm change: warmer air, spices, the sea. For many, the drive to the resort is a first unforgettable impression. At Anaamaya you are welcomed warmly – with a first cup of tea, a short orientation and time to settle into your room.

  2. The first medical consultation

Right at the start, the medical team takes plenty of time for you: sleep, food, energy, the rhythm of your life. On this basis, your personal treatment plan is created and adjusted every day.

  3. The first days

Slowness, silence, no distraction – at first this feels unfamiliar for many. Usually somewhere between day three and day five it shifts, and the calm becomes exactly what was missing.

  4. Your daily rhythm

Two treatments a day as prescribed by the doctor, yoga in the morning, meditation in the evening and plenty of time to rest. An Ayurvedic cooking class and a half-day excursion bring Kerala even closer.

  5. Back home

After 13 nights you travel home. If you wish, you can take Ayurvedic medicines recommended by the doctor with you. And we are still there for your questions afterwards.

This journey suits you if …

It may be less suitable if …

  • you are looking for a classic wellness or beach holiday

Questions about this journey.

What does the tour guide do?

The tour guide is your first point of contact on site: for everyday questions, wishes and worries, contact with the resort and excursions. They notice when someone is quieter than usual and make sure nobody feels lost. Medical questions are answered by the medical team.

Do I need to speak good English?

No. This is exactly what an accompanied group journey is ideal for: the tour guide supports you in everyday matters. Translation apps on your phone also help with many things.

When is the best time to travel?

For most people, November to February is the most pleasant time in Kerala: a mild climate and little rain. Our next group journeys take place in November and at the end of February.

Will my health insurance cover the costs?

In Germany, statutory health insurance usually does not cover the costs. Private insurance may cover part of it depending on your plan. Please check directly with your insurer before booking.
