Holding on to the little things
A gratitude journal needs neither a special format nor much time. In the evening, write down two or three things you appreciated today. It might be a call from a friend, a quiet meal or a moment outdoors. The more specific you are, the easier it is to remember later.
Your own way of seeing
You don’t have to gloss over a difficult day. Small pleasant moments can sit alongside worries. Perhaps you would rather draw something or collect single words. When travelling, this becomes a personal memory: less a list of sights than a collection of the moments that meant something to you.
